Brogo Permaculture Gardens and the guidebook
John Champagne, renowned permaculture trainer and practitioner in Australia and SE Asia, shares how he uses the original Timor-Leste guidebook, upon which this Tropical Permaculture Guidebook is based.
‘ The publication of ‘A Permaculture Guidebook for East Timor’ in 2008 was a game changer for me in terms of delivering permaculture education in South East Asia. Both in terms of the simple descriptive narrative and illustration of the information as well as its particular relevance to tropical climates. For Permaculture Design Courses taught in Indonesia, Thailand and Cambodia, I printed copies out for each student and used it as the text book for delivering the course.’
‘Brogo Permaculture Gardens is a business name and property based on the south coast of NSW, Australia run by my partner Sharon and myself. We focus on education and each winter travel to SE Asia to deliver Design Courses as well as Teacher Training workshops for SE Asian nationals.’
