Cooperatives and community groups are a traditional part of every culture, and are simply an extension of families and communities working together. In return they strengthen the community, bring in more resources and income, and add new skills. This need/goal/objective can be economic, social or provide a service; the important thing is that it is the community and individuals within it which benefit.
